Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, my husband had a shunt placed in his head in 2013 it was not working right so the Dr. removed it and replaced it with a different brand of shunt. He got so much better. In 2015 the drain tube invaded his colon and he survived sepsis, menningites and pnuemonia. The shunt was removed and another was put in 2 months later draining into his chest. The fluid got into his lungs and he had e-coli in his shunt and spine. The shunt was removed and I was told he could only get one that goes through his heart. So far we have not done anything. He sleeps alot and hardly says any words. What can I expect in the future.
