Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi ! So last year Sept. 2014 I was getting prenatal care and my doctor called me back to say that all my lab results came back normal accept my Chlamydia results that came back positive. So I told my boyfriend and he got treated the same time I did. I was prescribed 7 day oral pills and he was prescribed 4 pills by mouth at the health unit. I was told to not have sex for 10 days and so was he. On my 6th day in of taking my prescription we had sex. But two days after I went back to the doctors and got retested and they told me a day afterwards that I was all cleared up. He never gotten his results because they treated him and let him be on his way. But here we are in Sept 2015 and he's just now started getting symptoms and we went and both were tested positive for chlamydia again. We got treated again and we're ACTUALLY waiting 10 days this time. But could it make sense that we possibly have gotten re-infected with chlamydia for this long? And given the fact that our son was born without any complications, if I had it this long, wouldn't my son have been affected by it? I'm so confused I need help! We're both exclusively monogamous to each other so it's not making sense! What do you think? Honesty is what I need ! Thanks:)!
