Hi, I just recently saw my cardiologist to get some test results. I had a nuclear stress test done and also a cardiac treadmill test done at his office plus a Holter Monitor. The test results for the first treadmill test were mildly positive, so he ordered a nuclear stress test. He said that the nuclear stress test was really good and the holter monitor as well. He said it was fine if I wanted to use my treadmill in order to speed up the weight loss. He had suggested getting back to my normal weight again as that would help .. I had some echocardiograms done with results as follows:
It showed that I had a mildly dilated ascending aorta in each of these tests with the results as follows:
Year - 2013 - 36.9 mm
- 2015 - 39mm
- 2017 - 39mm
When I visited him the other day, he said he wanted me to have another echo done in November 0f 2019 to see how things are then. He said if the Aorta is still the same at 39mm and stabilized that there would be no need for me to see him any further. That kind of scared me, as I figured it should be monitored every two years anyway. I talked to my vascular surgeon who has actually done aortic aneurisym's and he just said to make sure it is monitored every two years indefinitely. I asked the cardiologist if there was still a chance that it could keep on enlarging and he said he did not think so if it was stabilized by then. As far as what I know, there is no way of them predicting whether it will enlarge or not, that is the reason for the monitoring.
I would like your opinion on this, even though it is pretty far off until the next Echo. Your advice on this would be much appreciated. Thanks,Darlene
Sorry I will have to cancel as my page will not go down to where I can fill in the credit info for my credit card so I can't pay. So dissapointing. I think it is my Window's Vista. Causes so many issues.
