Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have COPD. And I do smoke. This past week and a half I have been experiencing a heay chest like I have a girdle wrapped around my heart and lungs, I am extremely dehydrated beyond normal. Also I have been getting pings in my heart as well as muscle spasms around the chest area. And burping not belching I do not eat anything that would cause it and I would have been diagnosed with it a while ago. This is brand new symptom along with headaches and getting light headed thru out the day. My doctor gave me an EKG and an xray of my lungs. Her diagnosis was indigestion and COPD. I am concerned because I am positive you cannot predict a stroke from an EKG. I feel in my gut she is wrong. Should I be concerned about a stroke. Also she did not order any blood work either which could also detect if there is an issue with the heart. Not even a cholesterol test. Please let me know if I should be doing something about it?
