Hi I had a small lump appear on my bikini line quite a few years ago (about the size of a pea) caused me no problems until last year it got infected. I was prescribed amoxy clav which didnt work and then I was given a course of cephalexin which got rid of it; it returned to a little pea size lump again until two weeks ago (approx 1 year to the date of the last infection it flared up into this huge swelling red lump and started spreading.. I went to the doctor and he prescribed me cephalexin again, which didnt work; meanwhile this lump is huge and had a really hard wall around it. went back to the doctor and he opened it up and drained it, this was 4 days ago. The pain has gone but there is still a little blood coming out and the top of the cut still has a hard lump and is a little red... Doctor has put me back on amoxy clav and Im due to go back on Thurs...he has given a sample to lab so we are waiting for results....does this sound like a sebaceous cyst and will it have to be removed....Im a little scared. thanks
