Hi, I am a 32 year old female who has been having issues with elevated ALT and ALP off an on for the past 2 years. I first had elevated ALT of 92 and ALP of 146 on routine blood work about 4 months after I had my 2nd child and was exclusively breastfeeding. 2 months later the ALT had come down to 30 and the ALP to 127. Another 3 months later the ALT was 30 and the ALP was 99. The numbers remained normal throughout the next 3 months. I then got pregnant again and had a normal pregnancy with no issues (unfortunately I only had my liver function tested in the first trimester (it was normal). About 3 months after I gave birth the ALT was 87 and the ALP was 174. I was referred to a gastro and had it retested 6 weeks later and the ALT was 33 and the ALP was 122. During this time I was tested for ANA, AMA, hepatitis, Wilson's disease, etc and tested negative or normal for everything. The only thing that was high was my TtG. The gastro did not think anything meaningful was going on. I just had it retested a couple of weeks ago and my ALT was back up to 92 and my ALP was 145. I am still breastfeeding and recently took Ceftin for a bad sinus infection. Ultrasound showed my liver was normal in size with no noticeable bike duct dilation. My bilirubin is normal at .7 and my albumin is 4.8. I am very nervous that it might be something serious like PSC but am wondering if there could also be a link to the breastfeeding. Thank you for your reply.
