Hi Dr. Rynne. Well, I am so very concerned about my poor handicapped (hemi phlegic) brother who has been through too much in his life already. He suffered a severe brain injury at the age of 15, he is now 71, has not used his right arm since 15 y.o. and does not have steady gate nor can he catch his falls. He is presently in a so-called Skilled nursing facility. A yr ago January he fell there and broke his right toes. Jan 2, 2016, he fell again this time breaking his right leg, front & back (fibula/tibia). He was placed in a splint, have to visit OrthoMD tomorrow for further eval & perhaps surgery or a more perm cast. Anyhow, I have my hands full, wish I could care for him once again; however, so sedentary, has gained up to 200 lbs. ER doc put him on Tramadol for pain. I am now very concerned about that after reading the side effects etc. He is on Dilantin & Phenobarb for control of seizures. The side effects are so many and so dangerous...please help, advise!
