Hi Doctor, My Main Question Is About Breast Health But

Hi Doctor,

My main question is about breast health but I want to give a brief background about my mom's health first.

She has mild Lupus where she suffers Angioedema and other health issues twice so far in the past two years. She takes thyroid 100 mg for 8 years. she has low iron level in her blood but her blood count and hemoglobin is ok. She takes cholesterol pills for two years now for medium high cholesterol. She takes vitamins and minerals such as calcium and iron.

She have recently done two biopsies for her breasts and the results were as follows:

Left breast: Focal flat epithelial atypia within a localized area of cystic change with columnar call change and mild hyperplasia, calcifications are identified in this area

Right breast: fibrocystic changes include columnar cell changes with microclacifications

In this case, would you operate and remove the area? Or would you monitor the area hoping for no change? Would you ever recommend removing the hole breasts?

Please let me know if you need more information.

My Best Regards,
Athir Nader
