Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi- I had a baby a year ago- breast feeding the entire time and continue to do so. The entire time I had regular periods until about 4 months ago when periods stopped. I still breast feed. I had my thyroid checked and the level is at 0.01(I'm on synthroid also) (meds are being adjusted as level was too low) and I also had an estradiol level done and it was 10. This would indicate I am in menopause. My question is am I really in menopause or is the thyroid level being so low causing the estradiol to be low? If that is not the cause and I am in menopause is there anything I can do to reverse it as I wanted to have another baby. I am 41. Thanks
