Hello.My husband just received a diagnosis of prostate cancer one week ago.This after having symptoms for over 3 months and awaiting an assortment of tests.The biopsy came back positive for cancer with a Gleason score of 10,and he was told it was aggressive.The urologist said he was marking his case as urgent with a hope to getting into a cancer treatment center within the next 2-4 weeks.It has been a week and nothing.Just an answering machine at the office.Getting a second opinion might add too much waiting time to the situation and my husband is concerned that if he were to go to another doctor, the original doctor might not release the test results requiring him to go through another biopsy again.We are at wits end with waiting and not sure what else we can do to expedite a treatment protocol,because everything has to be done on a referral basis.I realize this is mostly an administrative question but I do not have any resources to help facilitate some progress.My husband is concerned that by the time he does get treatment it might be too late for him.Any suggestions?
