Hello doctor. I am from Mauritius aged 23 and 147cms..i am pregnant wiz my 2nd child now 20wks..docs hv detected VDRL TPHA ++ in my blood..i didnt even know that such a virus existed until the nurse contacted me...my 1st pregnancy 5 yrs ago went normally, i had had a CS n my daughter is completely fine..i didnt hv any syndrome at that time..i may have contracted it by my hubby as he has been called for test.. i am worried for my 2nd baby. Today the dermatologist gave me 2 dose of Penicillin which should be continued for 3wks. Please doctor give me more details about this VDRL/TPHA thing as here in Mauritius i am not being given a proper explanation and advice..will it affect my child during my pregnancy?
