Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
The left side of my tongue and left side of my throat hurts. When I attempt to clear my throw and spit out, my tongue rubs on the side of the throat causing a lot of pain. I touched the side of my tongue and throat with my finger and felt nothing not even mild discomfort.
The only thing I can think of is my tooth is fairly rough that I had filled due to a cavity about the same time. It's an upper tooth on the left side. I don't ever feel the tongue even touching the tooth.
The pain feels like my tongue has bumps and those bumps are rubbing and irritating the side of my throat.
I looked in the mirror but it's tough to say for sure although there may be several small bumps on the side of my tongue which MAY be causing the irritation. My main issue is that this has been going on for 2-3 weeks now with the pain not subsiding at all.
Any insight into the issue would be great.
Thank you,
Chris
