Hello, My Father Is A 62 Years Old And Was

Hello, My father is a 62 years old and was diagnosed with Hep C and Cirrohsis of the liver a few years ago. Has had a history of pain pill addiction for more than 30 years with alcohol abuse. He is currently in the hospital due to the dr finding a mass. He has been having severe abdominal pain with vomiting and bowel movement problems. The Dr has done a CT, Ultra sound, which came back normal. The GI Dr has also done an exam and a colonoscopy which didn't show the mass either. What could it possibly be and will a MRI of the abdomen show this mass since CT and ultrasound did not and neither did the colonoscopy? A surgeon has been called in, however has not completed his consult yet. Please help me at least have some idea what is going on with my father and what the mass could possibly be.
