Should I See A Doctor Immediately After Noticing Blood While Coughing?

Hello. I had bronchitis for about 15 days. On what I believe was the last day, yesterday, I coughed up the last of the nasty brown mucus. Now there is some saliva bubbling and collecting that I have to cough up and there is blood either in it or in the last bit of it that I spit out. I believe the blood is coming from my throat. Should I go to the walk-in clinic?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The blood while coughing can be related to a microtrauma of the throat. I suggest using a mucolytic and drink a lot of liquids. In my opinion, there is no need to go to the emergency room at this point. If the symptoms continue, you can see an ENT specialist.

Hope my answer was helpful. If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.
