Hello! I Am 61 Yr Old Female....I Had Hip Replacement

Hello! I am 61 yr old female....I had hip replacement in Jan 2016...wore compression pump after surgery around clock for my 2 day stay....leg, ankle and foot was swollen for approx 2 months...it is now June 1 and past couple of days, swelling in ankle and foot has returned...(toes are not swollen) swelling not as severe as after surgery......I had no recent injury to my foot or ankle.....called surgeons assistant and was told swelling is not from surgery as too much time has passed.....it was suggested to take 2 alleve (220 mg) 2x day, and if I have pain, 500 mg Tylenol in between Alleve.

I have returned to local gym 3x week and ride stationary bike 30 min, and walk on tread mill at a normal pace for 30 min also.

I did have endoverous laser surgery on same leg hip was replaced in Jan 2003.

Can you please give me your opinion as to why swelling has returned...

Thank you! Susan Sobotor
