Having Fluctuating Blood Pressure, Headache, Cold, Numb Leg And Feels Dizzy. Concerned
Hi. My mom is experiencing blood pressure when she is sitting up at 144/90, pulse 58. But when she is lying down its at 124/72. At first she was expecting a major headache she felt cold and legs were numb and feeling dizzy. I can t figure out what s wrong with her. I checked her Bp again while sitting up it was 140/89. This is not her normal range. Her normal is around 120. thanks
Blood pressures are subjected to variations due to autonomic changes. External factors such as stress, anxiety, position, etc. can bring about the autonomic changes and thereby blood pressure variations.
Normally blood pressure changes upto 20mmHg are acceptable limits.
That being said, associated symptoms such as headache, dizziness and numbness are concerning.
Hence I encourage you to consult her neurologist. She needs to be physically examined for neurological deficits.
Hope this helps.
Regards
