Have Scrapes, Bruises And Swelling Due To Accident. Why The Swollen Area Have Changed To Hard?

Hi, I was in a bike accident a couple weeks ago which involved a bunch of scrapes, bruises, and swelling. The places that swelled (insides of lower calves, just above ankle -- banged into my bike -- and my left outside thigh) are still swollen and hard, which is the part that is confusing me. The swollen/hard spots are only somewhat tender to the touch and I have not pain going through my every day life. However, why are they places that were swollen now hard? Is this cause for concern? It does not seem to be spreading.

Dermatologist 's  Response
hi. It could be that there could be a deep infection which mights have entered through the breaks in your skin(scratches) that is now causing edema and hardness(cellulitis). I would advice you to consult a surgeon and he would examine you for any signs of infection. If he suspects cellulitis then he might put on antibiotics
