Have Irregular Periods. Pregnancy Test Is Negative. On Divery. Any Side Effect?

M query is about the iregular periods.
my last period is 12 august 2013. till now m not getting my period..
the pregnancy test is also negative..my doctor advice me to take Divery 10mg for 5 days to get the period.
this tablet is safe to take or it has any side effect.can i get my periods after taking this pill.

If I were your treating doctor for this amenorrhea case I would come up with the following steps.
1 Since your due date were on 10 12 September and 15 days passed , home pregnancy test is negative. You didn't mention any symptoms about pregnancy , so history is very inconclusive .
As divery ( medroxyprogesterone) is contraindicated in pregnancy , so till if pregnancy is rule out , you can use it .
If pregnancy is there then don't use it.
2 Now question is why no bleeding so consult one more gynecologist and get his opinion as physical examination will play an important role in diagnosis.
3 Get in ultrasound and then consult gynecologist .
