Have A Lump Near The Base Of The Stab Wound. Is This Scar Tissue Under My Skin? Or Just Fluid?

I was stabbed three weeks ago in my arm, had it stitched up and then had the stitches removed about 10 days ago, there is still a sizeable lump near the base of the stab wound, it doesnt hyrt or look inflamed, however it is a little sore when I rub it. Is this scar tissue under my skin? Or just fluid that will go away with time?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Welcome to Health care magic.

1.A lump in the post operative / incisional site is normal in early days up to 10 days.
2.If there is lump, pain on touch and tenderness - means there is associated infection / inflammation in the incisional site.
3.Could be bacterial infection - which may require a small incision and drainage followed by an antibiotic treatment.
4.An ultrasound area will help to evaluate the nature of the lump, if collect, what type and its extensions.
5.No scar tissue will not give pain and tenderness ( soreness) on touch.
6.Get it examined by treating doctor as a followup. Good luck.

Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health.
