Had Pains On Left Side Of Head, Temple, Above The Left Eye, Radiating Around The Back Of Head.

thank you, for a few w eeks I have had pains on the left side of head, temple and above the left eye, radiating around the back of my head on the left. Prior to this experience there has been three incidents when a white curtain came down over my eyes for a few seconds, was extremely frightening. I am nearly 70 yrs of age and have always been very healthy. I worked full time as a nurse manager until a year ago and rarely had time off I have had my eyes tested on my Gp s instructions, that was ok. He sent me for a CT scan , that was normal. I am waiting for an echocardiogram , a scan on the arteries of the neck and head, and an xray on vertebrae of neck (to check out arthritis ) I also have to go for a blood test to test my ESR rate. Because I am NHs I have to wait another 3 weeks for the echocardiogram as my GP didn t regard it as urgent. However last night had a very bad experience, I thought I was going to lose consciousness when my hands and arms, in fact my whole body became very light, It was a feeling which I have never experienced before, which only lasted approximately 30 seconds but really scared me, for a moment I thought I was going to die. I am on my own so I suppose that made it worst. Are all these symptoms related to the same problem??

Hi, as you describe you had head ache, on one side of the head, and C.T. scan reveals there is no problem . Echo may not have relation with this.
As it appears that you have such head ache due to tension, anxiety, or sinusitis, or ischemia of brain. Last 2 are excluded, so it might only due to the anxiety.
I to my patient with such symptoms prescribe alprazolam.5 mg at night for 3 months, analgesics, and ranitidine. Thank you.
