Had Hit Head Around Eyebrow. Is Swollen With A Cut. Will It Heal On Itself?

I fell and hit my head around my eyebrow and a very large egg like swelling appeared and a small cut. The swelling has gone down quite a lot but there is still a large lump (soft) and I have a very black eye which is swollen slightly above the eyelid. Should I do cold compresses or just leave to heal by itself. I have no other symptoms. Thank you.,

Hi thanks for your question.
You had haematoma (collection of blood under skin) around your eye following a trauma to your head. You should have seeked medical advice for the same,Now sincehaematoma has started regressing,it doesn't need any active intervention. It will regress of it self even if you don't do any sponging, however sponging will be helpful. In the process of resolution haematoma changes colour and this black colour is due to haematoma.
Hope this answers your question.
