HIV Results Were Epithelial Cells 0-6phf, Culture: Yielded Moderate Growth Of Staphylococcus Aureus After 48 Hours Of Incubation
Hello doctor. I just had HVS test done, and my result came out as follows Pus cells - ++ Epithelial cells - 0-6phf Culture : yielded moderate growth of staphylococcus aureus after 48 hrs of incubation. I want to know how dangerous this is and what medication to take. And is it transmissible?
High vaginal swab test shows that there is infection leading to pus cell. Culture confirms it by presence of Staph. aureus. This is not a serious condition but a mild bacterial infection. You have to take a course of antibiotic like penicillin and if its resistant then oxacillin can be used. Culture sensitivity may be required if no improvement is seen. Yes, infection can be transmissible.
