Got Stitches On Tongue. Got Two More As It Was Loose. Feels Sore? What Can Be Done?
I recently got stitches on my tongue, I'm not sure how many because the hospital I went to wasn't very good and didn't tell me much. In fact when I got home a couple fell out but they said they put extra in because some were loose. The two sides that need to heal together are touching so I figured the mouth is a good enough healer it will do. It has gotten a little more sore, nothing to rush to the hospital for but enough for me to research it. Please help!
I read your query regarding stitching on tongue and now you feel sore and worry about healing.
Your two stitches are shed off just after two days while rest are there, if the stiched margins are still approximated well than no problem but this may be confirmed only by examination. But as your doctor is saying that he had put some extra stitches and the shed stitches will not creat any problem, we should rely on it.
In the mean time you should care for your oral heygine along with the medicines you are taking as per advice of your doctor, and also avoid spicy food to reduce the soreness.
I hope above explanation answers your query.
Regards.
