Got Hit In The Calf. No Discoloration. But Painful. Kept Ice. Causes And Treatment?

I got hit in the calf with a softball that I batted. It was an infield hit that the ground and bounced back up & hit me in the calf as I was running towards first base. There is no discoloration. I almost didn't make it to first base because of the pain. It is very painful. I did ice it immediately after. What could it be? I can't believe a softball that wasn't hit that hard can cause so much pain. Thanks

Hi, you got hit by a soft ball, the hit was so pain full you could not walk even.
The hit might be at the spot of a nerve like tibial terve if on inner side, and ulnar nerve if on outer side.
I usually prescribe antibiotics and antiinflamatories for my patients in such situation. Thank you.
