Finger Burnt, Blister Removed At Home. Bandaged With Silver Cream. Yellow Fluid Coming, Should Keep Wound Open?
Hello, i got my finger burned with hot oil two days back. I removed the skin/blister at home itself as it was all melted. went to the doctor where they cleaned it and put a bandage with silver cream. But they asked me to keep the wound generally open and keep applying the ointment time to time. My question is there is this yellow fluid that keeps on coming on the surface of the wound . so is it ok to keep it open. Also how long would it take to heal?

Your doctor has given you right advise. Apply silver cream three to four times in a day & keep wound open. Also you should keep the wound clean. After taking proper care & regular medication, depending upto your body's immune system wound usually shows healing signs within 48 hours. But you are noticing any foul smelling yellow discharge or increase in the amount of discharge or change in colour of discharge, associated with increased pain & swelling than it is possible that the wound has got infected. If you notice any of this symptoms you should consult your doctor.
