Feeling Weird And Having Stiff Mouth Movements. What Could Be The Reason For Weird Pronunciation?

Hi,

I'm a young guy, 21 and active. This weekend I started feeling weird while I talked. Sometimes everything went as normal, other times my jaw felt weird, or my tongue stuck to the bottom of the lower teeth with tension in the chin, or the mouth movements felt stiff. It also didn't help that I felt gas in my throat. My talking went from normal to struggled and back again. One moment I talked like normal, the next I struggled to start getting words out, or swallowed the end of the sentences, or just felt weird pronouncing some words.

I went to a check in, and went through a series of tests to check my neurological system as I feared I might have got a stroke. But the doctor said I did perfectly on every test (skin sensation equal at both sides, hearing equal, right / left finger aiming for the nosetip with closed eyes, facial movements, tongue movements, reflexes, kicking and pushing movements), and that I didn't have, and was at zero risk, for stroke. He said it probably comes from too much stress, and that if it doesn't change I should get a check at a dentist / personal doctor (perhaps due to stress, or some other factor, I've got a white-yellow layer at mye tongue). He said that the dryness was why the tongue sometimes felt like didn't moving along properly, and that the jaw / throat issue most likely was because of the same tension.

It's been two days more now, and I still have the same sensations. What do you think this can be? Should I wait a few more days, try and destress and drink much water, or check with my personal doctor tomorrow?

Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

Do you have the habit of tobacco or pan chewing?

If so,discontinue the habit since it can lead into precancerous lesions on oral mucosa including tongue.

I would advice you to get a thorough clinical evaluation done.

If you are c/o dry mouth, salivary substitutes has to be administered.

Keep yourself hydrated.

Avoid stress and anxiety.

Maintain oral hygiene well.

Take care.
