Experiencing Difficulty In Opening Eyelids Due To Swelling

Hi,
Was sitting here with the kids and felt like I had an eyelash or something if my eye. Tried to roll my eye, pull the eyelid down and roll etc but didn't get better. Went in the bathroom to look in the mirror and I had a slight fluctuations swelling below the eye. The lower conjunctiva is red and there is an oval swelling? Mass about 3mm long on the inner half of the eyelid. That's what I was feeling. It came on fast. I used some patanol drops we had and it feels better, not swelling anymore. Conjunctiva is a little red. Eyesight is normal. Not sure what it is as it came on quickly. Don't want to spend 3 hours in the ER to be told I should see an ophthalmologist on Monday, unless it gets worse. Any ideas? Couldn't find a picture online.

Hello
It seems from the history that you are having swelling of the eyelids with difficulty to open the eyelids.
This indicates inflammatory condition involving the glands of the eyelids most commonly hordrolum externum or internum.
The treatment of the condition is by antibiotic eye drops and antiinflammatory drugs.
Application of hot compression to the swelling provides symptomatic relief.

Thank you
