Exhaustion, Hair Fall And Weight Gain. Thyroid And Basic Blood Test Came Clear. Problem With Adrenal Axis?

I have been "beyond" exhausted for 2 months, my hair is slowly falling out and when I try to do minimal tasks I become shaky, weak and NEED to sit back or lay down until it passes and I'm gaining weight - probably due to inactivity. I've had blood work run and all the basic tests come back ok including my thyroid but that's not making me feel any better. I am not imagining this - I am exhausted and need help!!!! My nephew is a nurse and he mentioned this might have something to do with my adrenal axis - how is this diagnosed?

Hi, get done 24hour urine cortisol level as most specific diagnostic test. The urine is collected over a 24-hour period and tested for the amount of cortisol. Levels higher than 50-100 micrograms a day for an adult suggest Cushing's syndrome that is due to adrenal axis problem. If it is diagnosed then further investigation required to know the site of problem.

Hope this helps you.
