Ears Pulled Back, Stitches Still Remain, Seem To Be Red Often, Puss Coming Out Sometimes. What Should She Do And Is That Normal?

hello.. My sister has had her ears pulled back years ago and the stitches still remain in the behind of her ear. they seem to be red often and she claims there is puss coming out sometimes.. she has cut the stitch shorter towards the skin to try to fix it but it doesn't seem to heal properly?
what should she do and is that normal

Welcome in H.C.M. for consultation.

I read your query regarding healing problem of stiched wound of ear of your sister. As you said the pus is oozing out from wound and after removing stiched wound is not appearing as healed well.

According to your symptoms it appears as your stitched wound had been infected therefore started oozing out pus and once the infection occurs in operative field healing process will always be disturbed.

Now she needs proper care of operated site as sterlise dressing, good antibiotics and re stitch it after the infection is over.

She should also be investigated for diabetes.
