Does Using A Tight Back Support Belt Worsen Haemorrhoids?
My husband is taking warfarin. He has recently damaged his back and has been wearing a very tight back support belt. he has rather a large hemorrhoid which bleeds on and off but doctor does not want to operate because of the warfarin. For the last two days he has been passing black stools and I am just a bit worried he might be bleeding from elsewhere due to wearing the belt. Can you advise what we should do. thankyou Regards S, Spencer
Main reason of haemorrhoids is constipation. In your husband's case passage of black stools can be from upper gastric intestinal tract because bleeding from haemorrhoids is bright red in color. It may very well be due to anticoagulant --warferin.Avoid constipation.Your doctor is right in refusing surgery as he may bleed heavily.
