Does Trazodone For Insomnia Causes Mood Swings With Confusion And Mild Anxiety?

I recently(7 days ago) suffered a moderate mechanical trauma to my brain.I complained of insomnia to my family doctor who prescribed trazodone 50MG.I have also been aware of some mood swings coupled with confusion and mild anxiety .I have read a description of some of the side effects of this drug and it seems to suggest a risk of the very symptoms I am complaining of.Is this drug indicated for my symptoms.David Bates Vancouver canada.

Hello
You are right in suspecting trazodone for your symptoms. It can lead to mood swings and anxiey.
It is not the right choice for simple insomnia.
It should be better that you shift himvto zolpidem 5-10 mg at night for sleep. This is non addicting as well as a safe molecule.

Hope this helps you
