Does Too Much Broccoli Cause Soft Green Stool?

Well lately, for the past 2 days I have been eating brocolli and slim fast alot. Today I ate 2 servings of both, and seen that like last night my poop was still soft green and not strong in oder. Since about 11 this morning I have been eating other foods like popcorn and hot dogs, fries and ice cream to see if it would change color. Still no luck and I am scared. What is happening?

Hello,

The green stool can be related to broccoli consumption. Usually, it will have passed completely in 2-3 days. So, during this period you may have green stools. You should not be worried.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
