Does This BP Value Require Medication?

i am 53 years old. i regularly go for a morning walk for one hour ( about 7-8 Kms) followed by pranayam for about half an hour. i am a smoker and smoke about 20 plus king size sticks. presently my blood pressure is 134/92 and fasting sugar is 97, PP is 127, glycosylated haemoglobin is 6%. Do i need to under go any medication for blood pressure.

Dear thanks for the question.

Your blood pressure is with in normal limits but on higher side. Diastolic pressure should be less than 90.

If I were your family doctor I would have advised you to carry on with routine as you are following. Cut your cigarette and increase exercises, your BP will remain normal . Your sugar levels are also normal. You don't need to take any medicine at this stage, but keep monitoring BP regularly.
