Does Taking Antibiotics Along With Marijuana Cause Any Interactions?

Hi, I m on 500mg of cipro 2x / day and 500mg of flagyl 3x / day for colitis with some bad side effects of nauseau and slight abdominal pain from the colitis. I usually use marijuana with a vaporizer to ease these types of symptoms when I m not on antibiotics. Are there any interactions btwn the antibiotics and marijuana that I should be concerned about?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
Yes, Marijuana can interact with these antibiotics and reduce their therapeutic effects.
So better to avoid Marijuana while you are taking these antibiotics.
In my opinion, you are having side effects from these antibiotics. These drugs are known to cause gastritis, nausea etc.
So take combination of pantoprazole and levosulperide twice daily on empty stomach before taking these antibiotics.
Your symptoms will mostly subside with this.
Don't use Marijuana for these symptoms.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
