Does Taking Wellbutrin Before Consuming Beer Cause Any Harm?

Hi. I am taking Wellbutrin to help me stop smoking. I take one 150mg tablet a day. I am not depressed. I have two questions. I go on a camping trip every year at this time. Is it okay if I drink a couple of beers at night? This is about the only time I drink at all. Second, at this dosage, do I need to be weaned off the medication or can I just quit?

hello welcome to healthcaremagic.

yes its safe to have couple of beers with wellbutrin. it will not cause any adverse effects. but there are other medicines which can cause adverse effect like disulfiram metronidazole etc. please ensure you take doctor's advice before consuming any medication.

secondly, your dose will tapered with time as you have become dependent on bupropion. if you quit suddenly, you may relapse. your treating physician will taper off the drug for you. till then please be compliant to the regimen.
