Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Taking Tamiflu in renal disease depends on the severity of the disease , if EGFR is more then 10 less then 30, he can take it but once in 48 hours. If more than 3o then once in 24 hours for prevention. However, if the EGFR is less then 10 (most patients on dialysis have less then 10) then it should not be taken for prevention or treatment. So just ask if she knows her EGFR , if more then 10 its ok. If it is less than 10, she should not take any more tablets, hopes single pill wont cause any problems, it would be highly appreciated if she could just inform her primary doc.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
