Does Taking Fluconazole While Trying To Conceive Cause Any Complications?

Hi, we are trying to conceive. I had thrush a couple of weeks ago and went to the pharmacy for treatment. Without thinking I took fluconazole 10 days ago and then realised it s not recommended in pregnancy. I am due to ovulate in the next couple of days. Is it still ok to try to conceive this month, or should we wait until next month? Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

If you can wait, it would be much better for you. If you are planning to conceive, start taking Folic Acid tablets daily. This prevents neurological deformities.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhadresh Lakhani
