Does Surgery Or Medication Heal Hole In The Ear Drum?

i am 32 year old male. i was slapped on my ears by some persons on both the ears on that very time some kind of sensation started in my both the ears. then i visited a doctor he said there are holes in both the ears and he prescribed some medicines and said there are 50-50 chances of recovery through medicines or i will have to go for surgery. i want to know will i be able to have my normal hearing after having medicines or surgery. please advice me i am very much scared

Hello,

Don't worry. Get an audiometry, a tonnes test and Weber's test done then we can come to know about conductive deafness or senso-neural hearing loss. If it is senso-neural, it is difficult to recover but in case of conductive deafness due to perforation, you may recover easily with medication or with surgery.
