Does Spider Bite Treatment Cause Significant Weight Loss?

Good Morning A Friend of mine was bitten by a spider in her neck, she has been on treatment for the bite but the redness to come back from time to time its over a year now. My question is this since the spider bite she has lost weight like over 20 kg and she is not on any diet she is always pale and weak. Can this still be the side effect of the spider bite or is there something seriously wrong with her. She is also very stubbing and thinks she knows it all and says she s fine but she is not. Please advice.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

From your description, I am of the opinion that You should get your friend checked up with some local physician. I don't agree that spider bite would result in weight loss and that so even after 1 year.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ashish Ranjan, General & Family Physician
