Does Small Lump On The Shin After A Fall Need Medical Attention?

I fell off my bicycle about three weeks ago and among other things, my lower left leg just right of the shin bone was tender to the touch. I may have hit the bike frame in the fall but mainly recalled landing on my right shoulder and being a bit tangled in the bike when getting up. My shin has never shown a bruise but has been tender if I press on or bump the area. It s not painful otherwise. Tonight I noticed a small, hard lump on the shin bone which is where the tenderness is centered. It doesn t move around, it seems to be on the bone. Thoughts? Suggested actions?

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hello
I have studied your case.
There is possibility of haematoma due to injury.
If you are able to walk then no need to worry.
haematoma may take longer time to heal.
If required you can take x ray if symptoms and pain increase.
supportive crepe bandage may give early relief.
I hope I have answered your questions. If you have further questions please feel free to contact us. I will be happy to answer. Take care.
