Does Skipping Birth Control Pills Lead To Pregnancy

If I skip four or five pills and don t bleed, am I pregnant? I missed the first four pills of my pack and had unprotected sex on the fourth night. I started to catch up but decided to throw the pack out and start a new one. I ve missed three more hoping that soon I ll have my period (since skipping birth control normally does this) If I don t start bleeding am I pregnant?

Hi,
In the manner you have taken the pills, it is obvious that your hormonal balance has been disturbed. This in itself can cause period disturbances. Moreover, safety is no longer guaranteed and there is every chance of getting pregnant. In this scenario, if you do not see your period even after ten days after it is due, you should get an expert opinion. You would need a clinical evaluation, trans-vaginal/pelvic sonogram and hormone profile to plan further management. Hope this helps.
