Hello, I can understand your concern. Mucinex can cause feeling of metallic taste in mouth as its side effect. As you will stop using Mucinex or get cured of congestion, the sensation of this taste will disappear. Salt room is not a cause of this. Unfortunately, there is little else can be done except removing the cause in such cases. You might try chewing sugarless gums, drinking lots of fluids, trying new seasonings and food items, avoiding metallic dishes and cookware etc. for temporary relief in the problem.
