Does Presence Of Tampon Hinder The Reading Of An MRI Scan?

Hi. I just had an MRI of my lower spine done. I noticed the tech was a little disturbed after it was over. It bothered me a little, then I remembered I was wearing a tampon. Would it come in the way of seeing the results? Do you think he could get bothered by it? And should I have told them? I figure they would have asked if it was.

Infectious Diseases Specialist 's  Response
Hello there,
I am dr.milan an infectious disease specialist answering your question.
Hope i have given appropriate guidance to you.
As per my opinion it should not come into MRI scan. But MRI is also done for visualization of muscle tissue and ligaments and many a things can be visualized by that. So it hinder little bit the picture.
So now what to do?
Ask your radiologist is it needed for repetition?
If inspite of some disturbance picture is clear for what you have done the MRI so ot may not need for repeat.
So just ask your radiologist doctor for the same.
if you have any query you can consult me anytime.
Give me star rating, helpful vote & thank you according to your satisfaction level.
Thanking you.
