Does Potassium Deficiency Require A Kidney Specialist S Attention?

I have low potassium issues. 3.7... I also have ulcerative colitis, which results in diarrhea 5 - 6 times a day. Now my general practitioner had her assistant refer me to a kidney specialist. I don t understand why. Other than this, I am in very good shape. 5 3 = 145 pounds. I walk a lot and stationary bicycle for exercise.

Hello sir.

Potassium fluntuations can happen in kidney disorders also..

Your GP sent you, so that kidney causes for low potassium levels are ruled out.

We always advice for the full renal profile, once we see any fluctuations in potassium levels.
