Does Pain Medication Harm The Stomach In The Long Run?

When taking pain killers on a full stomach or with appropriate amounts of food, Is it still harmful for your stomach in the long run. I take meloxicam, for osterarthiritis. Even though, it was prescribed for taking one tablet a day. I may take one when the pain is severe, and I make sure I have food on my stomach. Is it still dangerous enough to mess hurt my stomach by causing preferations there? I don t take them often, only when the pain is bad. Thanking you in advance for your answer.

Hello,

Analgesics(pain killers) can cause gastritis and can cause peptic ulcer when used for years. You can consider safer drugs like tramdol which is regarded as safe for long run.

Hope I have answered your query.

Take care

Regards,
