Diabetologist 's  Response
Dear sir i can understand your concern
This medication metformin is a very good medication which is also having weight loosing effect in diabetes.
in my opinion you need to check your Hba1c% to check your diabetes is under control or not.
i am very happy to see that you lost 10 kgs its a great achievement.
your BMI is 29.81
the target bmi for you is below 24.5 for which you need to reduce your weight to 67kgs
once this target is achieved you can stop metformin.
Excess weight is always bad and make you diabetic.
As you are young its not impossible to attain a healthy BMI with good diet and exercise
regards
