Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son is 7 and half months old since the baby stop breastfeeding he started taking a baby powder milk Lactogen,he has a cold since 1 week and then started to cough alot result in sore throat, doctor prescribed cepodem 50,soventus jr and maxtra syrups ,is it for taking lactogen the baby increase in cough or the medicines not working?
I think you should stop and think over when did a cough appear: before starting Lactogen or after? If it was after taking Lactogen, then, might be due to an allergy to any compound in this powder milk.
Plus should rule out severe lung infection. He is already being treated with (antibiotic) and cough medications. Apply vapour rub at bedtime to open his airways. Raise his head from shoulders to ease coughing.
Please give a couple of days for improvement. If not, should consult further with his paediatrician.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
