General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Potassium supplements typically do not cause any problems with swallowing or stomach upset. Sometimes with high potassium levels, the ability for muscles to work can be affected, but this would be uncommon.

If this problem is new, I would certainly discuss it with her physician. There may be many causes for this and it would require an examination and possibly laboratory and imaging tests.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
