Does Intake Of Contraceptive Pill Cause Delayed Periods?

Hello doctor, I had oral sex with my gf on 26 sep , and i touhed her vagina wid my penis covered with condom. And she took unwanted 72 aftr 5-6 hours immediately. And had her bleeding aftr 5 days for 3 days. But now her periods used to come on 22-24 of every month.but this time its already whole october passed and its 6th november. She didn t get her periods. What to do now.. Any suggestions which can help..! :/

Hi,

After taking an emergency contraceptive pill like Unwanted 72, your partner has got withdrawal bleeding after 5 days, which says that she is not pregnant.

However, her periods will alter accordingly and would take about 24 to 28 days to appear next after such bleeding.

Kindly wait for it to happen. However, if the delay is for more than 40 days, then it could have been caused due to hormonal imbalance.

She would need clinical evaluation for which she needs to consult Obstetrician.
