Does Intake Of Trigestrel Help In Preventing Pregnancy?

I had unprotected sex on sunday at about 2:30 am then I went to the clinic on monday to as ask for morning after pill. The sister at the clinic gave me Trigestrel to take, she said I must take 2 tablets X 2 times a day. Will that prevent me to fall pregnant. I dot need a baby at the moment. Please assist

Yes, Trigestrel is an effective emergency contraceptive pill. You have taken the correct dose. Emergency contraceptive pills are effective if taken within 72 hours of unprotected sexual intercourse. Efficacy declines as time elapses between sex and drug administration. But it is reasonably effective for up to 120 hours and perhaps longer. However, you should remember that it is more effective the sooner it is taken after unprotected sex. But still it is not 100% effective and pregnancy is possible even after its proper and timely use.
